We’re talking about why we get together to celebrate and practice as a group. What’s the purpose of having a coven, anyway? It’s a tough question to answer. One, that I don’t have answer too yet, and have been thinking about a lot.

Along with this, starting a new job, I’ve also been contemplating being a new study with a new tradition. It’s been a tough process to work through, because I would leave my old trad. to begin a new one, and also be committing myself to a very intensive few years of study. The commitment isn’t the issue for me, but by making this commitment I would also be committing my family at the same time. This adds to the decision.

I really like this new tradition, and I know that my path will lead me there eventually to learn, but for now I feel I need to focus on what I already know. Work with the Knowledge I’ve already gained, stop learning and start Doing. I’ve spent a lot of time learning all sorts of interesting things about the Craft, but I haven’t put much of it into practice. Some yes, and I write a lot about what I’ve learned, but again it’s a lot of theory and a lot of putting my energy out, rather than turning it inward.

It’s time for some involution. I need to stop thinking during a ritual “how will I write about this tomorrow?” and just BE in the Ritual. It’s time to turn my thoughts inward and stir them in the cauldron of my soul. (silly little metaphor I know) So if my posts become less, it’s nothing personal, just me walking a different line awhile.
